The Everest Base Camp & Gokyo Lakes Trek is an extraordinary expedition that combines the classic Everest Base Camp trek with the additional challenge of reaching the picturesque Gokyo Lakes. The journey begins in Kathmandu, where you’ll explore the city’s rich cultural heritage before flying to Lukla. From Lukla, the trek takes you through Phakding and Namche Bazaar, the bustling Sherpa capital, where you’ll acclimatize and prepare for the higher altitudes ahead. The route then leads you through the serene Dudh Koshi valley to the sacred Gokyo Lakes, known for their striking turquoise waters and panoramic views of Everest and other towering peaks.
Crossing the challenging Cho La Pass, you’ll make your way to Everest Base Camp, the iconic destination for mountaineers worldwide. The trek culminates with a sunrise hike to Kala Patthar, offering unparalleled views of Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse. The descent takes you back through the Khumbu Valley, with stops in Pheriche and Namche Bazaar, before returning to Lukla and finally to Kathmandu.
