Y.E.S Project

sherpa

When I started mountaineering many years ago, I knew I wanted to support and protect the environments I worked and played in. Few livelihoods are as fragile and intertwined with nature as those of the people who live and work in the mountains.

As a business owner, I’ve always felt a responsibility to lead by example—supporting the communities I work in and ensuring that I contribute positively to the environment rather than take from it.

I’ve pledged that for every expedition I run, I will support a worthy project in the country I’m operating in. These projects follow the Y.E.S. principles:

Y – Youth
E – Education
S – Sustainability

More important than the expedition itself is the impact I can have on the people who call the mountains their home and depend on them for their livelihood.

YES Impact – Ama Dablam 2022

In collaboration with the expedition team and following discussions with colleagues in Pakistan, I’m proud to say that the funds from this expedition will go directly to the family and children of Sharif Sadpara, a mountaineering friend who tragically died this year on Broad Peak.

Sharif was a strong and dedicated mountaineer who lived and worked in the mountains of Pakistan. He had five children, all striving for a better future through education. I’m honoured to help ensure his legacy lives on and to support his young family in their journey.
