Overview

Mount Elbrus, an extinct volcano with twin summits, stands as Europe’s highest peak. Our journey begins in Kislovodsk, the last town before the lower steppes of the Caucasus. After a scenic drive to base camp at Djili-Suu, the acclimatization process starts with hikes to stunning landmarks like the stone mushrooms at 3,100 meters. The route to high camp at 3,750 meters includes crossing alpine terrain and glacial moraines.

Summit day involves a challenging 1,900-meter ascent from high camp, navigating the Mikhelchiran Glacier to reach the saddle between the summits. The final push to the western summit rewards climbers with breathtaking panoramic views of the Caucasus range. The descent back to high camp and then to base camp completes the climb.

This expedition emphasizes acclimatization, technical training, and physical fitness. Our experienced guides provide comprehensive support, ensuring every climber is well-prepared for the ascent. The north route’s remoteness and beauty make this climb a truly unique and rewarding experience.
