Overview
Dhaulagiri, standing at 8,167 meters (26,795 feet), is the seventh highest mountain in the world. Known as “The White Mountain” due to its massive snow and ice coverage, Dhaulagiri is located in the remote region of Western Nepal. This expedition offers a unique opportunity to climb one of the least frequently summited 8000m peaks.
The journey begins in Kathmandu, where you’ll prepare and acclimatise before flying to Pokhara and driving to the trek’s starting point. The trek to base camp involves navigating through the picturesque valleys and rugged terrains, providing essential acclimatization and an immersive experience in the region’s natural beauty and culture.
The climb itself follows the Northeast Ridge, the route of the first ascent. It requires navigating steep icefalls, exposed ridges, and snow slopes. This technically challenging climb demands a high level of fitness and previous high-altitude experience. Our experienced guides will provide expert support and ensure safety throughout the expedition.
