Overview
K2, standing at 8,611 meters (28,251 feet), is the second-highest mountain in the world. Known for its extreme difficulty and technical climbing requirements, K2 is a mountaineer’s ultimate challenge. The journey begins in Islamabad, where you’ll prepare and acclimatize before flying to Skardu. From Skardu, we travel overland to Askoli, the starting point of our trek to K2 Base Camp. The trek offers stunning views of some of the world’s highest peaks and traverses the famous Baltoro Glacier.
The climb itself follows the Abruzzi Spur, the most popular and well-documented route. This route involves negotiating steep snow slopes, ice fields, and rock steps. Climbers will encounter challenging sections such as House’s Chimney and the Black Pyramid. The final ascent includes navigating the Bottleneck, a narrow couloir with overhanging seracs that pose a significant risk. This expedition requires a high level of fitness, technical climbing skills, and previous experience with 8000m peaks.
